The film Little Eelam at the End of the World is an ongoing film project by artist and filmmaker Sanjey Sureshkumar. The film takes place at the end of the world, better known as Vardø, and tells of a time when the island municipality consisted of 10% Eelam Tamils.

With documentary methods and fictional storytelling, the process-based exhibition The End of the World at Kurant9000 explores and expands upon the thematics of  the film. The exhibition presents a sound and video installation with the same title, inspired by Dravidian temple architecture from Tamil Eelam (North and North-East Sri Lanka). The artists Sureshkumar and Henrik Sørlid refer to the temple as a meeting place, a place for healing and mythology, where SASUSU Radio invites the public to take part in life at The End of the World.

"The fury of the Sri Lankan genocide against the Eelam Tamils ​​threatens the very existence of the Tamils ​​on earth. The last Tamils ​​have come to the end of the world, where they live out their damned lives together with the Vardø islanders who inhabit the merciless island landscape."

Filmen Lille Eelam på verdens ende er et pågående filmprosjekt av kunstner og filmskaper Sanjey Sureshkumar. Filmen utspiller seg på verdens ende, bedre kjent som Vardø, og forteller om en tid da øykommunen bestod av 10% eelam-tamilere. 

Med dokumentariske fremgangsmåter og fiktiv historiefortelling utforsker den prosessbaserte utstillingen Verdens ende på Kurant9000 tematikken og forarbeidet til filmen. I rommet presenteres lyd- og videoinstallasjonen med samme tittel, som er inspirert av dravidisk tempel-arkitektur fra Tamil Eelam (Nord og Nordøst-Sri Lanka). Billedkunstnerne Sureshkumar og Henrik Sørlid viser til tempelet som møteplass, et sted for helbredelse og mytologi, hvor SASUSU Radio inviterer publikum til å ta del i livet på Verdens ende.

உலகமுடிவான வார்டோவில் குட்டி ஈழம் கலைஞர் மற்றும் தயாரிப்பாளரான சஞ்சய் சுரேஷ்குமாரின் படத்தயாரிப்பாகும். திரைக்கதையானது உலகத்தின் முடிவான வார்டோவின் மக்கள் தொகையில் 10 வீதம் ஈழத்தமிழர்களாய் இருந்த காலப்பகுதியைப்பற்றி சித்தரிக்கப்படவுள்ளது.

முன்னேற்பாடுகளை உலகத்தின் முடிவு எனும் பெயரில் Kurant9000 இல் காட்சிப்படுத்தப்படவுள்ளது. காட்சியறையில் தமிழ் கட்டிடக்கலை முறையில் ஆலய வடிவமாதிரி ஒலி, ஒளியமைப்புடன் அமைக்கப்படுள்ளது. கலைஞர்களான சஞ்சய் சுரேஷ்குமார் மற்றும் ஹென்ரிக் சோர்லீ ஆலயத்தை வழிபடும் மற்றும் கலை, கலாச்சாரத்தைப்‌ பேணும் இடமாகவும் மக்கள் சந்திப்பதற்கான இடமாகவும் காட்சிப்படுத்தும் இந் நிகழ்விற்கு ச.சு.சு. வானொலி அனைவரையும் உலகத்தின் முடிவை அனுபவிப்பதற்கு வரவேற்கிறது.

Inspirert av Eelam-tamilsk mediekultur startet Sanjey Sureshkumar i 2018 SASUSU Radio - en mobil radioplattform med fokus på norsk-tamilsk historie, migrasjon og diaspora-kultur nå i form av en omreisende Nissan X-trail fra 2006 med et spesialbygd bilstereoanlegg. Under reisen samler Sanjey opp materiale fra reisen - enten det er video, lyd, fortellinger, samtaler, ideer eller tanker - til å skape ulike verk som gjenspeiler vår norsk-tamilske identitet og Norges flerkulturelle migrasjonshistorier.

Inspired by Eelam-Tamil media culture Sanjey Sureshkumar started SASUSU Radio in 2018 - a mobile radio platform regarding Norwegian-Tamil history, migration and diaspora-culture currently as part of a touring Nissan X-trail from 2006, with a custom built stereo system. As a part of the journey SASUSU Radio seeks to collect materials - either video, sound, stories, conversations, ideas or thoughts - to create different works that highlights our Norwegian-Tamil identity and Norway’s multicultural migrating histories.
